on Monday 10 of February it was a lovely day o go water wising at Howick Beach. The sun was shining and 6D was ready and happy to go. So after roll call we got into little groups for transportation. Then we traveled over to Howick Beach and got ready. The sand was glowing, the water was swishing, the rocks were slippery.Today was going to be a good day.

Firstly when I got out the felling of the road sizzling under my feet. I raced over to the grass at 1,000,000,000 mph like a light being turned on. I quickly took my shoes off and felt the velcro like grass what a nice and itchy felling. Mr Nicholl's first yelled "Put on a life-jacket then let us cheek if it is on right. Then you can sit on the grass again.'' Running over to the itchy grass Mr Nicholl's said a interesting speech about the opties . I learnt that the Tiller and Rudder are the turning mechanism that you use and the boom swing across when you turn. Also the sprit holds the sail up high so it can catch the wind.

We raced over to the opties " you may now put them up." Yelled Mr Nicholl's... Everybody started in a big rush "BLA BLA BLA." Went everyone yapping away about who dose what. I quickly raced over to the mast and put it in at the bow of the optimist. Quickly Kurt got the sprit and placed one end of it in a little hole called a peak. Then we did the other side of it and pulled on the sprit halyard and tightened the rope connected to the mast. Then we threaded a rope through the pulleys that's what controls your speed. After we put in our center board that keeps the boat stable so it dose not capsize. After we attached to the gungeons and pintles. The tiller turn the optimist. Were finished."Now you can take it down." Yelled Mr Nicholl's. It was such a lovely day to go water wising I think that 6d will remember this. "Can't wait till next time!"
